New Epica DGX Blows the Doors off the Competition with Industry Leading Data Rate, More Inputs/Outputsand Field Serviceability ORLANDO, Florida – June 12, 2013 – At InfoComm 2013, it was clear that AMX was there to shake things up and set a new standard for fiber switching. AMX unveiled the Epica DGX 288 with its industry leading 10 Gbps data rate, 288x288 distribution capability and ease of field serviceability – the standard for fiber switching has not only been redefined, it's been recreated. The Epica DGX 288 is ideal for government and military installations, casinos, education campuses and other enterprise markets requiring secure, uncompressed, no latency video transmission of both analog and digital video including HDMI with HDCP. By utilizing a fiber backbone, HDCP compliant source content can be easily distributed across entire campuses or between facilities separated by as much as 10 kilometers (six miles). The 10Gbps data rate future proofs the solution by widening the data pipeline more than any other switcher. With data throughput to spare, tomorrow's signal types that will undoubtedly require a larger data rate can also be supported. And simplex fiber mode secures transmissions by locking them down to a one-way, unidirectional signal path for worry-free distribution of highly sensitive content. Epica DGX 288 inputs and outputs grow in 16 position input/output boards and feature individually field replaceable SFP fiber modules which help to ensure that constant uptime is achieved. The Enova DGX 288 enclosure is a technical marvel featuring standard redundant power supplies, field serviceable fan trays and a seriously compact form factor. AMX added 144 additional inputs and outputs for a total of 288x288 in an enclosure just 1 RU bigger than the previous AMX Epica DGX 144 (144x144). Availabilty and Additional Details AMX is demonstrating the new Epica DGX 288 in Booth 2216 at InfoComm 2013, being held June 12 - 14 in Orlando, Florida. It's expected to begin shipping Q3 of 2014.
