Crestron Expands Lighting Control Resources on West Coast

Craig Baum, Mark Lachman & Christ Surunis Join Growing Crestron Commercial Lighting Team

Rockleigh, NJ, May 24, 2012 – Crestron announced today the expansion of its lighting resources in northern California and Seattle, appointing industry veterans Craig Baum and Mark Lachman as its new Commercial Lighting Regional Sales Managers, and Christ Surunis as Regional Manager for Consultant Market Development. Baum represents commercial lighting in the western region of the U.S. and parts of western Canada, while Lachman covers commercial lighting in northern California, Reno and Utah. Surunis represents the consultant market in northern California, northern Nevada and Utah. With more than 25 years of experience in lighting controls each, the new team will take Crestron lighting controls to new heights with their sales experience and client relationships.

We are very pleased to welcome Craig, Mark and Christ to our dynamic team to accommodate the growth in our industry,” says Crestron VP of Lighting Controls, Mike Malone. “They will expand our commercial lighting business and meet the demands of our customers by working with consultants, local electrical contractors, distributors and specifiers in their territories.”

Baum joins Crestron from Lumenergi where he was Director of Sales for the Western region. He previously worked at Simkar Lighting, Cooper Lighting and Leviton Manufacturing. Baum brings extensive experience in sales and marketing, account management, account level program development, pricing and rebates of lighting/lighting controls, electrical, and electronic products and services. Baum has a proven record of success, consistently increasing sales and market shares for his organizations.

Lachman joins Crestron from Sentry Switch where he was National Sales/Marketing Manager. He previously worked for Lutron, Progress Lighting, and Osram Sylvania. Lachman’s experience includes managing and training agency representatives and distributors, product development, manufacturing, quality control and distribution of product. Lachman has a solid record of presenting valuable solutions to customers and leading technical sales professionals, while positioning his business units for growth.

Surunis joins Crestron with over 30 years of design and construction industry experience, including 20 years as a design professional. During his ten years at Lutron, he served as Senior Specifications Manager in commercial lighting controls, National Accounts Manager in hospitality, and speaker and CEU presenter for webinars and American Institutes of Architects (AIA) accredited presentations at industry events and conferences. Surunis brings extensive experience in solution analysis and business development, and is a CA Certified Interior Designer, board member of International Furnishings & Design Associations (IFDA) and California Legislative Coalition for Interior Design (CLCID). He is also active in industry organizations, including AIA, Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
