Take, for instance, Budweiser’s rooftop Beer Park restaurant in Las Vegas. Beer Park, the Las Vegas Strip’s first rooftop bar and grill, is located on a 10,000-square-foot deck overlooking the fountains of Bellagio. The venue provides an open-air atmosphere for guests to enjoy their favorite sports teams on dozens of high-definition TVs or simply relax and people-watch the iconic street below. The bar offers more than 100 beer options, including 36 brews on tap, as well as an extensive selection of distinctive handcrafted beer and liquor cocktails.
Budweiser sought to create more than a bar; the Beer Park project was envisioned as a fully immersive digital environment. Now, consider the challenge of developing a restaurant-bar that offers immersive digital experience in an open-air, rooftop venue located at the center of the Vegas strip. The project can seem a bit like staging a speech in the middle of a rock concert. Design must engage multi-sensory immersion against the competing distractions of an overwhelming backdrop – the Vegas spectacle.
